"Gene Warner"
Guitar Tech & Repairs

Gene Warner has been playing guitar since the early 1950’s when he was a member of the "Green Mountain Swingbillies". After a stint in the U.S. Air Force, Gene spent several years working for a rare coin and stamp dealer and traveling all around the county. After landing in the Austin, Texas music scene in the late 1960’s, Gene worked as a freelance commercial artist. Returning to San Antonio, he started his first music store gig. Gene soon became more interested in stringed instrument than the retail side and has spent the last 30 years as a full-time repair technician.

As Gene puts it, "I’ve got more hobbies than sense". Besides being an avid golfer, one of his favorites is a large collection of rare and hard-to-find LP’s (you remember....vinyl .....12" round disks.....black....small hole in the middle). His music tastes run the gambit from hillbilly to world music. He has owned one of almost every stringed instrument he has ever found. He plays a little guitar, a little bass, a little mandolin, a little banjo, a little "old-time" steel guitar a little......well you get the idea!

Gene’s says his ONE claim to fame is selling Keith Richards (yes..that Keith Richards!) a black Telecaster Custom in the mid 1970’s ....like that wasn't enough!

Gene is in the store daily from 5-6pm to answer your repair questions.  So stop by and let him get your instrument playing and sounding better than ever before!
